Pigmy, received his Navy wings of gold in May of 1955.He has accumulated over 11,500 hours in aircraft ranging from the tail dragging F6F “Hellcat” and AD “Skyraider” to tactical jets like the A4, A6, F4 & F14 and civilian aircraft like the Citation and Westwind. As a tactical carrier pilot he accumulated 931 carrier landings and a combat tour during the Vietnam War. He commanded an A4 squadron and also had command of a tactical support wing and a training wing in the Naval Air Training Command. He is a Centurian (at least 100 landings) on 4 different carriers. He is a graduate of the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California with a degree in International Relations and had the opportunity to use his degree as the Naval Attache’ to Brazil from 1983 thru 1985.
