Roster of Instructor Pilots
Marty began flying while in high school and went on to join the Navy ROTC at the University of California, LA. After graduating with a BA in Economics and commissioning as an Ensign in 1979, he went to NAS Pensacola for US Navy flight training. Receiving his wings in 1982, Marty then flew the F-14 Tomcat with VF-114 at NAS Miramar and made two deployments on board the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). His next assignment was to VT-86 as a TA-4J instructor at NAS Pensacola, FL. Following active duty, Marty flew from 1988 -1993 as an adversary pilot with VFC-13 in the Naval Reserves. He is a graduate of the TOPGUN adversary instructor course. Marty has 8100 hours total flight time and 310 carrier landings. Marty is also a Certified Flight Instructor. He was hired by a major airlines in 1988, he is now flying as Captain on the MD-80.
