Pontiac, MI & Kankake, IL
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I took the FLIP in Pontiac, MI last July, and the Advanced Fighter Tactics segment yesterday in Kankake, IL. What a thrill! I received my Private Pilot Certificate in September of 1967, but due to college, then work demands, two kids and many years of cancer surgeries and chemotherapy, hadn't flown much since. So I approached this experience with some trepidation. I was always taught "airspeed, straight-and-level is sacred, and BE CAREFUL!" Granted, those are important. But you folks have taught me so much more about flying an airplane. The pilots I flew with (Worm, Bluto, and Pygmy) were true professionals- knowledgeable, gentle, kind, and patient instructors (I hope these adjectives don't ruin their reputations!!) whom I could trust as much, or more, than any of the surgeons I have signed my live over to on consent forms. Of course, I was awake to see your pilots do their work. I only had "waking up alive" with which to judge the surgeons' capabilities, but that works, too. I look forward to flying with whomever from your outfit in the future. And I'm about to share my experience with a couple old Army buddies and see if I can get them to "suit up and show up," too.
